SALVATION ARMY CENTRAL TERRITORY NEW COVID POLICY: From Major Carol Huffman… “Greetings, Kroc Krew!

This afternoon USA Central Territory Chief Secretary, Colonel Steven Howard sent the attached email to all employees and officers, and additionally through the ADP payroll system. I would like to help guide you through this communication and these new requirements that apply to all of us. Please read this information carefully.

Here are the important facts regarding this new COVID policy and protocol:

  • Employees and officers are required to provide documentation of vaccination status by January 10th. Everyone must download and use the MyADP mobile app on your phone or tablet. All information must be uploaded to the app and will be kept confidential. Detailed instructions for this process can be found in the MyADP instructional guide.
  • If you are not vaccinated, you must begin uploading weekly test results in the MyADP app beginning February 9th.
  • Employees who choose the testing option must undergo COVID-19 testing at least once every seven days.
  • Acceptable tests include tests performed at a point of care (Dr.’s office, pharmacy, covid-19 testing site) and over the counter tests that are proctored by a telehealth professional or observed by a designated TSA representative. More information regarding the TSA representative process will be sent at a later date.
  • Please continue to notify your supervisor immediately with a positive COVID test result. Our current COVID guidelines are provided by the Kent County Health Department and state that employees must quarantine for 5 days, be fever free for 24 hours and have their symptoms mostly resolved in order to return to work.
  • As a reminder, employees must wear a mask when leaving an enclosed office and while in front facing areas with members and employees.
  • We will continue the Kroc COVID safety protocol measures previously implemented of keeping areas wiped down and maintaining social distancing.”

Please make sure to check and read through your email closely for instructions and details on how to complete these processes. Contact Major Huffman or Kristin Hoin with any questions.

RESTORING HEALTH: What happens when Fitbits and Friends work together? Improving health and wellness through behavior is not easy at any age. It is even more difficult as we age. Beginning this February, the Kroc Center is reaching out into the community to help older adults improve their health and wellness by empowering them with a Fitbit and a small group of encouraging friends. The Restoring Health program is a partnership with The Hispanic Center and the Grand Rapids African American Health Institute to enroll up to 30 older adults in this innovative 14-week program. If you have any questions about the program, please see Chris Reinsma.

REMINDERS OF THE WEEK: Here are some of the topics you can expect to be covered at daily morning and afternoon huddle meetings…

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed this week:

  • Margarita sends thanks to all the people on the fitness and facilities teams who helped with the successful New Year, New You event.
  • Jake Delosh was a multitasking Green Dot wizard… while conducting a Teen Fit Permit orientation, he paused briefly to demonstrate an exercise for another member he overheard asking about it – from across the room!
  • Lily at the WD helping a member locate misplaced car keys.
  • Allison Dyke welcoming new class participants and showing them to their classes.
  • Facilities keeping the parking lot and sidewalks cleared for our members throughout the snowy days.

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • U-PREP program: Tuesday & Thursday mornings, 8:30-10:30am, Fireside & Gymnasium
