First 5 – Week of July 18, 2022

AREA CLOSURES: In addition to our regular day camp, Swim Camp and Basketball Camp will run this week, Monday-Friday from 9am-12pm. The pool and the gym will both be closed during this time. Basketball camp check-in/out will be in the lobby near the climbing wall, and swim camp will be at a table near the family changing room entrance.

SUMMER SESSION 2 PROGRAMS: Tuesday is the deadline to register for Summer 2 Programs. The Fall 1 program guide will be available this week and registration for Fall programs begins on Monday, August 1. 

BACKYARD BBQ:  It was great to see everyone who came out to the Backyard BBQ! The next one will be Thursday, August 18th from 12-1pm. Thanks to our friends on the EAT Committee for organizing these summer events.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT: Tuesday, August 2nd is National Night Out! We’re looking for volunteers to help us that night promoting Kroc information and helping with the Storytime in the Park event at Garfield Park from 5-8pm. Volunteer duties will include passing out Kroc information, handing out free ice cream, and helping guests with registration. Please see Jon Shaner for more details if you’d like to volunteer. 

AYSO FALL REGISTRATION: The fall season on AYSO is filling up! Registration is open until August 14 and is available online at ayso1634.org. We’re also looking for volunteer coaches and referees. Please see Jon Shaner if you’re interested in volunteering this fall.

  • Lifeguard Jonny Leon found a member’s lost earring in the pool
  • Day Camp staff led worship for Kroc Church on Sunday
  • Alina Praamsma graciously accepting donations from a member at the Welcome Desk
  • A member was thrilled how quickly Eddie responded and fixed a broken shower
  • A good time was had by all on the first day of soccer camp
  • Another thank you to the entire Kroc Krew for your help and flexibility during Wednesday’s photo & video shoot. Our visitors from the LERMA Agency were left with a great impression of the Grand Rapids Kroc.
