First 5 – Week of October 16, 2023

ALL STAFF MEETING: We are planning for our first All-Staff Meeting in more than two years! The date is set for Sunday, October 22 from 5-6pm. The meeting will be followed by a complimentary dinner and time to socialize. This meeting is considered mandatory for all employees, regardless of status or schedules, and everyone attending will be paid for the length of the meeting. If you are unable to attend, you must contact your supervisor to be excused. Please see Major Carol, Luke Bronkema, or Melissa Roemer with any questions.

AQUATICS SCHEDULES: As we continue to work through staffing challenges, the aquatics schedule is still being updated on a week-by-week basis. Please make note that this week’s schedule is the same as the previous one, and we will continue working to open up more swim times as the Fall 1 session progresses.

SCHEDULES IN SLING: While we have been doing our best to make improvements to how we use the ADP payroll system, managers are finding that it is much easier to handle scheduling in the Sling software, especially when employees are working in multiple departments. In order to continue to improve communication and reporting, we are now asking supervisors to put schedules in Sling for ALL non-exempt employees. This will help us greatly when there is confusion about transfer codes, avoid scheduling conflicts, etc. So, all Kroc Krew members should make sure you can log into Sling and see your schedule. If you do not have a schedule in Sling for any reason, please speak with your supervisor or see Melissa Roemer.

MONSTER MASH: It’s almost time for Monster Mash! Our annual Halloween trunk-or-treat event will take place on Saturday, October 27 from 5-7pm in the East parking lot. If you have a connection with an organization that would like to come and hand out candy or other goodies at the event, you are welcome to send them to this form to sign up.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Lifeguard; Child Watch Attendant; Welcome Desk Attendant; Fitness Attendant; Music Instructor.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:

  • Shout out to the facilities crew for another season of the giant slip & slide, now disassembled for the winter.
  • The facilities team has also been responsive to issues raised by members related to the new locker rooms.

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • UPrep Enrichment Classes: Tuesday/Thursday, 9–10:15am; Outdoor Fields
  • FitKids360: Wednesday, 5-8pm; WPAC & Music Room
  • FAME: Tuesday, 12-3pm; WPAC, Art Room, Fireside
  • Salvation Army Advisory Board Meeting: Friday, 11:30am-1:30pm; Fireside
  • Salvation Army Men’s Ministry Meeting: Friday, 4-9pm; Fireside, Music Room, Green Room
  • Lobos Soccer: Saturday, 10:30am-3:15pm; Outdoor Fields

Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am (currently in the Music Room); if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.

  • None shared this week

Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:

  • Louisa Hoekwater: 10/15
  • Damon Lemons: 10/16
  • Kathleen DeJong: 10/16
