HALLOWEEN: The EAT Committee will be passing out treat bags for employees to enjoy on Monday. Employees may wear a Halloween costume to work on Monday as long as the costume is family friendly.
NEW GUIDES: New drop-in rec guides and program guides are now available at the Welcome Desk and online. Several programs are new for the winter session, so please make sure you are familiar with the new guide.
DAY PASSES: Day pass sales are officially back and we’ll be publicly promoting this more over the next few weeks. Please help make sure that anyone interested in purchasing day passes understands what is available within our schedules (there isn’t open swim every evening, etc.). Day passes are $12 for ages 12+, and $8 for 11 and under. See Jon’s email for a list of FAQ and other details.
EXTENDED SATURDAY HOURS: Starting November 5, we will extend hours on Saturdays and keep the building open until 4:00 PM (currently 1:00 PM). We know that not having access to the pool on weekends has been a source of disappointment for families, and that Saturday afternoons also tend to be, historically, one of our most popular times for day pass sales. The first few weeks will likely remain very slow in terms of utilization, but it is best to make the change now in order to condition users to the new hours in time for the busier winter season. NOTE: There are currently no plans to resume recreational hours on Sundays.
Expected activities available during the additional 1-4 PM hours will include:
- Fitness center access
- Open gym
- Climbing wall [pending staffing]
- Modified open swim [ending at 3:45PM]
RESERVATION REQUIREMENTS: Starting Monday, pre-registration will no longer be required for any drop-in activities in the Aquatics Center or Gymnasium. Schedules for activities like Lap Swim and River Walking, which were previously only available in one-hour blocks, will become much more flexible – users will no longer be limited to those individual blocks (example: if River Walking is scheduled from 9AM-12PM, they can participate from 9:45-10:15 without any issue.) Advance registration is still STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for drop-in group exercise classes and Child Watch, but users may sign up at the Welcome Desk if space is available.
Please refer to the Drop-In Recreation Guides for scheduling information; we are still trying to determine how to reflect the updated guidelines within Club Automation and the website calendars. Note that we reserve the right to reinstitute registration requirements to manage capacities if necessary.
OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Welcome Desk Lead; Pool Supervisor; Group Exercise Instructor; Fitness Attendant; Personal Trainer; Art Instructor; Swim Instructor; Lifeguard.
Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:
- Victoria set a great example of building a relationship with one of our members. She reached out to a member who went on a two-week hiatus and checked in to see how he was doing.
- Jake did an excellent job in a personal training session with a member who had specific medical complications, providing accommodations and modifications to make the training more effective for the participant.
- Also, Jake was willing to take on the battle rope program even though he did not need to and led an impactful 5-week session with one more week to go.
- Angie, the new Saturday Fitness Attendant, showed great attentiveness with taking notes and cleaning equipment until all attractions were spotless.
- A Monday drop-in exercise class wasn’t going as planned. However, Heidi swooped in and carried the class without a hitch! She was open minded and was able to go with the flow of the class.
- Jessica and Jon jumped right into action when there was a “brown cloud” in the pool last Thursday. Their quick communication prevented any red moments for our guests and helped Paul immensely as he finished up the process with getting the water clean or our guests to enjoy again.
- The Welcome Desk Leads and Patrice were a great help with covering membership procedures when Lisa was in the Kroc Standards review last week. They helped maintain organization and provided exemplary customer service at the same time!
- Major Carol sends another thank you to everyone’s hard work they put in for Kroc Standards. She sends a special shout out to Brent for the time and effort that he spent in guiding this project.
- Members were very happy that Eddie took charge in cleaning the pads on the fitness equipment, and they also noticed the great work Bob is doing to keep our facility in order.
- Lastly, Congregational Life had to rearrange church services differently due to the power outage. This meant having to use full lighting instead a wide array of lighting and stand in front of the stage because the curtain would not open. However, the facilities team were able to get the curtain to function properly again and lighting is back to some normalcy. Thanks to them, church services are back to the original format!
Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

- FAME: Tuesday, 12:45-2:45pm; WPAC, Fireside, Art Room
Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:
